Surgery Surgery Surgery

Hey everyone,

I just realized that I have not blogged since December! No news is always good news here. We have been trucking right along. It seems like time is flying and Nolan is steady growing up on us. Last night, we spent the night at the Cabot lodge.  Nolan LOVES the Cabot lodge. He calls it Jackson. He begs to go to Jackson all the time. He is in heaven sitting in the lobby eating popcorn and entertaining everyone. Last night we sat in the lobby, then we went to eat la cabana ( he calls every Mexican restaurant la cabana), then finished the night watching home alone.
He found home alone to be quite hilarious!

We saw Nolan's cardiologist today. Everything's seems to be great. He and his "inja turtle" were perfect little angels getting their echos done.

"Inja turtle" went first

Then it was Nolans turn. So they held hands.
He did not move a bit during his EKG. He is such a big boy!

Nolan will have his Fontan procedure on June 14th. We feel good about this. He is bigger and stronger than ever. We are also ready for this to be behind him. Dr. Shores was pleased with his size and health. We trust her and agree with her 100%. This was the first time that I didn't cry at the words surgery. I feel at peace and like we are doing the right thing. I have prayed and prayed over this baby and I know many friends and family have as well. We trust in the Lord above all.

Nolan got to go to chuckee cheese with pops after his appointment. We had a blast in there. He has only seen the commercials. He had begun to tell people that his pops was going to take him there. We made it happen!

Tomorrow brent will have surgery on his left knee. Please keep him in your prayers. We are hoping for a speedy recovery!

Great news!

Hey everyone!
First of all, praise God from whom all blessings flow! Nolan's heart cath went really well. We are so excited. They were able to start his IV's, access his leg, and access his neck without too much trouble. We were not used to that! The entire cath was over by 10:00 that morning. When they got in to look at his pulmonary artery they found there was no need to balloon or stint! Everything looked as it should at this point. In September, our wonderful cardiologist saw the narrowing on echo. In October, Nolan had a cold so we rescheduled this cath. Here we are in December with answered prayers. We are not surprised because this is what we prayed and prayed for. It's actually better than what I prayed for. Thank you so much for praying for Nolan. God definitely fixed that little artery.

I wanted to thank our familys for being there for us and easing our nerves. Uncle E (Eric Pentecost) brought Nolan a whoopie cushion to the Cabot Lodge the night before the cath. Nolan thought it was the best thing ever! Our parents and cousins let him "trick" them over and over. He literally asks to go back to Jackson everyday now. I am so glad that's the memories he keeps. This morning I told him we were going to Jackson for my eye appointment. He immediately went and packed his bag! He packed clothes, shoes, and diapers in his Mickey Mouse gift bag. He went and told Brent "I'm going to Jackson dad  I'm sick." Then took his bag to the door. We were so tickled and very very thankful. The boy is a mess and we love every minute with him.

Again, thank you all for praying. Thank you to Brother Will for being there and praying with us. We are blessed to have a preacher like you. We plan to have a big surgery this summer. I will update soon.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

Sucking two fingers and rubbing his ear in recovery.

Thank goodness spiderman was on bedrest too!

Getting those IVs taken out. He told Ms Laura Beth that was trouble! That's what we told him when he wouldn't leave them alone.
Serious bed head the next morning

Ready at the door with the bag he packed for Jackson!

Heart Cath Tomorrow

Hey everyone,
We are headed to Jackson listening to none other than Johnny Cash, "Jackson" by Nolans request. We will have the heart cath to balloon his pulmonary artery in the morning. We are scheduled to be the first case in the morning. I think I got most of the crying out of my system, and I feel ready to keep my strong face on for Nolan now. Thank you for praying for us. Brent and I appreciate it so much. Nolan is one loved little guy. I will update tomorrow afternoon.

Nolan says thumbs up he is ready to get this over with so Santa can come see him!

Heart Cath is rescheduled for December

Hey everyone,
Unfortunately, Nolan is not feeling well. He has an upper respiratory virus/cold. He ran a low grade fever through the weekend and was still pretty puny on Monday. His cath was quickly approaching and we began to worry about having it done when he is not well. We took him to the doctor Monday afternoon and they agreed that it would not be safe to put him to sleep with any respiratory issues going on. We are disappointed, but we want what's safest and best for Nolan. We will not have the cath this Thursday. The cath will now be December 10th. Thank you for praying for us. We are praying that Nolan feels better soon. We are also praying for patience as we wait.

Heart cath next week

Hey everyone!
It has been quite a while since I have blogged. We have been on the go! I started my new job and we have more free time together. We are loving it. We have taken the boys somewhere fun almost every weekend since. Nolan has been doing very well! He is so fun to be around. You never know what he may say or do!

Nolan had his usual every 3 month cardiology check up in mid September. At that appointment, we found out that Nolan's right pulmonary artery is narrowing. I was a little shocked and upset. He has been doing so well! Three months prior his echo was fine, but this time it was not. This is common. The artery has been operated on twice. Our doctor believes scar tissue is restricting it from growing and stretching. During the cath they will go in and balloon it to break up the scar tissue and stretch the vessel. Nolan himself assured me that he is ok. He is now able to pick up on our emotions and it is extremely hard for me to not show mine. We have not had any procedures since June 2014. Such a blessing. We are nervous, even though we know this is just a small bump in the road. Please keep Nolan in your prayers this next week. We are praying that everything goes smoothly for him. I pray that I have control over my "mom sobbing." The last thing I want to do is scare my tough little guy.

The cath is scheduled for Thursday October 22nd at 7am. Thank you for being there for us and keeping us in your prayers. It means the world to us.

Happy 2nd birthday Nolan!

 Hey everyone!
Our sweet Nolan has turned the big 2 today! We couldn't be happier to watch him grow, and boy is he doing it fast! He is so smart and funny. He definitely keeps us all on our toes with his fearlessness. We spent the last 9 days at the beach with our family. It was Nolan's first beach trip. He was an awesome beach baby. He is so easy going, yet a daredevil. He would walk straight out into the ocean alone if we would let him. We celebrated with a little beach birthday party last night! He loves birthdays. He has been telling everyone else happy birthday all week. He enjoyed spending the week with his brother. When he woke up yesterday morning he opened his eyes and smiled and told me,"I'm happy Mom." Talk about making a mamas day! We have enjoyed this time together so much, but there is definitely no place like home and we can't wait to be there!

Nolan is in great health right now. Not a day goes by that I don't thank The Lord for that. The last year has been so nice. No surgeries or procedures since last June. Thank you so much for continuing to keep us in your prayers! We pray the next year of Nolan's life is just as beautiful as this past one.

He was serious about the sand and where he wanted it. He walked up to several people we didn't know and gave them a little too!

Nolan got pops to come to the beach with us!

Hudson enjoyed the crab hunting! He caught so many crabs we lost count.

                Beach fun!

Nolan's first Hibachi for Bebe's birthday! Of course it didn't scare him a bit.
Hudson caught the broccoli!

Wonderful fishing trip! God's creation is so beautiful! Jennifer and I caught all of those fish ha ha Brent got the big one!

               Pool tricks!
Happy birthday Nolan! We love you so so much!
